Real Madrid are the 2019-2020 La Liga champions, so they are unsurprisingly well-represented in the Team of the Season.

As the champions of La Liga for the 34th time in their history, Real Madrid had many of the league’s best players last season. They were almost impossible to beat defensively, with Thibaut Courtois picking up the Zamora Trophy. But he was far from the only player who helped make Real’s defense the league’s best.

The club also had impressive attacking talent, specifically Karim Benzema, who was inches away from winning the Pichichi. Lionel Messi took home the award, but it was Benzema who scored more goals in important games, such as against Atletico Madrid and Sevilla.

UEFA.com recently announced the 2019-2020 La Liga Team of the Season, and both Courtois and Benzema were unsurprisingly on it after being two of the most valuable players in the entire league this year.

They were joined by four other Madridistas, including three players and manager Zinedine Zidane. Since Zidane took Real Madrid from third in the league to first amidst injuries and speculation, he is the undoubted Manager of the Year.

The other Real Madrid players to make it? Sergio Ramos, who scored 10 goals and led the way as the captain, providing his usually elite contributions defensively. Teammates Ferland Mendy, Raphael Varane, and Dani Carvajal should have all made it, too, but Los Blancos can’t dominate everything.

In midfield, Casemiro was another easy selection. He isn’t just the best defensive midfielder in La Liga, but he’s also the best defensive midfielder in the world. Luka Modric didn’t join him, but Toni Kroos did as the most accurate passer in La Liga. Kroos’ contributions are easy to go quiet since he does so much to help the team tick, including with his pressing, so it was great to see UEFA.com officially acknowledge the German in the Team of the Season.

So six players in total for Los Blancos, even including a few snubs in defense. It was another dominant, highly successful season, reflected in the individual and coaching performances.
