Real Madrid will try to sell Gareth Bale again this summer, but even if they can’t, his days of starting are over.

Nobody can say they are happy with what has transpired between Real Madrid and Gareth Bale during the 2019-2020 season. Injuries have played a role in Bale’s rough season, as the Welsh forward has been unable to consistently play for the champions of La Liga.

The tension between Bale and the club’s supporters is more than palpable, and that’s led to speculation about tension between Bale and Zinedine Zidane or even Bale and his teammates.

But speculation is speculation. Bale, for now, is a Real Madrid player, even though the team is doing whatever it can to sell him. At this moment in time, they are worried about their financial health, and Bale’s salary is untenable.

Perhaps Bale will stay and even play a role in 2020-2021, but Los Blancos can’t count on him. They have talented young players waiting in the wings to seize a starting job.

Here are three players who can fully replace Bale at the right wing position in the 2020-2021 season. All three of these players had better 2019-2020 seasons than Bale and could establish themselves as high-quality starters on the right side of Real’s attack.
