There will not be any ‘big signings’ this summer for Real Madrid.

Zinedine Zidane and Real Madrid managed to win La Liga with pretty much the same squad that seemed to have no life last season (2018-19). The team has formed a nice chemistry, but for how long?

Sergio Ramos is into the twilight of his career, and although he can have a prolonged career if he can keep up with the fitness levels and has his time on the pitch managed carefully, the team certainly need to start thinking of life once the Spaniard retires. Karim Benzema will turn 33 by the end of this year. Eden Hazard is already six months into his 30th year. Luka Modric is almost 35, and Toni Kroos turned 30 this year.

Having managed to successfully sign young talent over the last few years, Real have laid the foundation for a bright future, for the better part of this decade, yet there are still a few positions on the pitch that need reinforcements.

Here are three players, in my opinion, that Real Madrid need to sign for the long term to create both a domestic and European hegemony witnessed only during the 50’s and 60’s.
