Real Madrid had some breakout performances in 2019-2020, but who is next?

With so many talented young players in the squad, in Castilla, or on loan, Real Madrid may have the best collection of talent in all of European football. The likes of Vinicius Junior, Fede Valverde, and Ferland Mendy had major breakout seasons for Los Blancos, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the future star talent at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Here are three more players who could be breakout stars in 2020-2021. These players are on the cusp of a big season.

We start with versatile attacking midfielder Takefusa Kubo, who is generating significant interest on the transfer market from teams looking to acquire the Real Madrid teenager on loan. Kubo scored four goals with four assists at Mallorca this past season, and he was head and shoulders above the other players at the club.

The 19-year-old can play in the middle, on the left, or on the right. Clubs set for the Europa League like Real Sociedad want Kubo, and even Champions League-bound Sevilla would like to sign Kubo on loan.

Either landing spot would be ideal for a player whose confidence is growing. Kubo isn’t afraid to beat defenders on the dribble, even defenders at clubs as big as Real Madrid and Barcelona. This man has superstar written all over him, and he could blossom with more responsibility at a bigger club in 2020-2021.
