Real Madrid left winger Eden Hazard had a tough 2019-2020 season, but he still managed to have a few standout performances.

While it’s easy to be critical of Eden Hazard‘s first season with Real Madrid due to the lack of goals and assists, the former Chelsea superstar still managed to show his quality on the pitch when he was healthy. The Belgian international was especially brilliant before his first injury in November against PSG, slicing through La Liga and Champions League clubs alike.

Here are Hazard’s five greatest individual match performances of his early Los Blancos career.

5. June 14, 3-1 win over Eibar

Eden Hazard returned from his second ankle injury of the season when La Liga returned in June, and he immediately made an impact for Los Blancos. The 100 million euro signing recorded an assist on a breathtaking counterattack, unselfishly squaring up for goal-scoring center back Sergio Ramos to help Real take command of Eibar.

The superstar player was difficult to deal with, drawing three fouls and winning two dribbles in a composed, industrious display that reassured Madridistas. It didn’t last, since more injury woes haunted Hazard weeks later, but it was an encouraging return from a difference-making player who had a world-class first half in the win.
