Mister Zinedine Zidane is back!

If there is one thing that every opponent should be feared is that Zinedine Zidane is back at the helm. He is yet to be knocked out of the competition, as he won the coveted trophy every single season he has coached Real Madrid.

Zidane faced a similar situation during his debut season in 2015-16, when Los Blancos suffered a shock 2-0 defeat against underdogs VfL Wolfsburg in the first leg, only to see the tie turn on its head courtesy a Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick in the second leg at the Bernabéu.

Having inexperienced managers is always a risk, as witnessed with Santiago Solari last season. And Zidane is not just a manager. He is special. He is divine. He has got an enigmatic and enchanting aura about him that just reflects in his players’ game. He knows the stature and stakes of Champions League.

Zidane’s return has obviously gone a long way to bring a positive change in the players, and unlike Barcelona, they do not have any on or off field issues troubling them (except, of course, the curious cases of James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale).

With Zidane showcasing his tactical nous and proving he is not a manager favoured by luck, Real Madrid have every chance to win this year’s Champions League as well.
