A comeback

Real Madrid fans want to see Eden Hazard and Eder Militao play at a high level against Manchester City next Friday, but what they want to see the most is a comeback. Remontadas mean everything to Madridistas, because they show the true spirit of the club. Legends are made in these kinds of games, and this is an opportunity for a player like Hazard, Militao, or another forward who returned from an even bigger injury, Marco Asensio, to put themselves in the club’s history books.

Asensio, Hazard, and more are capable of changing the game with a goal or big play on the attacking end, and the same goes for defensive players like Ferland Mendy and Thibaut Courtois. There are so many players who have risen to the occasion time after time this season, especially the engines in the midfield like Luka Modric who stepped up to world-class performances in the stretch of the La Liga-winning season.

Real Madrid have what it takes to come back and advance to the quarterfinals of the Champions League. Even not including the literal changes with Asensio and Hazard back, this Madrid side is not the same team that collapsed to City in late February and then lost to Real Betis and Levante weeks later.

They are stronger, and even their detractors know they can pull off a massive victory at the Etihad Stadium. And even though they will be behind the screens this time, the force of the Madridistas cheering the team on should be felt in the hearts of the players. There is nothing like a Remontada.
