Bayer Leverkusen Winger Moussa Diaby

If there’s a star player Real Madrid want from Bayer Leverkusen right now, then it is Kai Havertz. But since Chelsea qualified for the Champions League and Real won’t make a play for a star like Havertz until 2021, the No. 10 is as good as gone in Los Blancos’ eyes.

But they should still have a reason to watch Leverkusen games in 2020-2021. The club is known for developing talent, as Real know well after loaning Dani Carvajal there to great success, and they’ve found another gem in Moussa Diaby, whom PSG could not keep.

Diaby is one of the most exciting players in the Bundesliga, and he is developing rapidly. A great winger who can play at a high level on either side, Diaby’s acceleration enables him to beat defenders at will. The skillful, intelligent winger averaged 2.4 dribbles per game, per WhoScored.com, and has serious world-class potential.

Although Diaby must become a lot more consistent from minute-to-minute before he can join Real Madrid, but he clearly has the talent to fit, even on the right wing as a natural left-footer. Last season, Diaby had 10 goal contributions in the Bundesliga, and it wouldn’t be a shock if he doubled that. He can take on more responsibility alongside Kerem Demirbay if Havertz goes to Chelsea.
