Real Madrid left back Sergio Reguilon seems to want a starting gig elsewhere, and the Premier League is calling.

Earlier this summer, Real Madrid sold star right back Achraf Hakimi to Inter Milan for 40 million euros, because the Morocco international wanted to start full-time somewhere else. Hakimi knew he wouldn’t be able to start regularly on the same team as Dani Carvajal, so he asked for a move elsewhere.

Sergio Reguilon, who shined at left back as the best player at the position in La Liga, may be headed for the same. He’s already signed with a super agent, and Real Madrid seem open to selling him if they get the right offer.

According to a report from Sky Sports, Los Blancos have received a 20 million euro bid from Premier League side Everton, managed by former Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti.

To be honest, 20 million euros is below what Real Madrid seem to want in order to be convinced to sell Reguilon. About 10 million euros more than that would convince Real to sell a 23-year-old left back coming off a remarkable season, because they could loan him to Sevilla for another year.

Real are in a difficult situation. They must really like Reguilon (who wouldn’t?), but he’s never going to play. The club has Ferland Mendy locked in as a starter, and there isn’t a better defensive fullback than Mendy. And his offensive game continues to progress. Meanwhile, Marcelo is still a useful member of the squad who adds incalculable leadership and team chemistry value.

So Reguilon has signed a super agent. He’s getting interest from more Premier League clubs than just Everton, and those clubs could be willing to pay considerably more for a young left back with Reguilon’s ability to make an impact in the attack.

Real will hold out for a big offer, but if Reguilon pushes hard enough and really wants a move, Madridistas can consider him gone. Hopefully, if he goes, he has similar success to Theo Hernandez, who has made Madridistas proud in Milan.
