Real Madrid have identified Eduardo Camavinga as one of their top long-term targets in the transfer market.

Kylian Mbappe is undoubtedly Real Madrid‘s top transfer target in 2021, but Eduardo Camavinga isn’t far behind him. Los Blancos need some more talent in the midfield, and because Camavinga can play as a defensive midfielder, he would be an important backup to Casemiro in that role.

That’s not all Camavinga can do, of course, and he’s coming off a remarkable for Rennes as a teenager. Camavinga was one of Europe’s biggest stars in the midfield, playing elite defense while making crisp passes and carrying the ball well for his team.

Real won’t be able to make a move for Camavinga until 2021 due to the pandemic, and because PSG and even Bayern Munich have shown interest, Madridistas are worried that they won’t be able to sign the all-important midfielder.

Now, though, MARCA’s Jose Felix Diaz is reporting that Camavinga is willing to wait until 2021 for Real Madrid. He has even requested that Rennes’ leadership not accept offers from other clubs, such as PSG, this summer.

It’s an interesting situation for Rennes, who were resisting all offers for Camavinga before the pandemic, but, now, selling Camavinga could really help them financially. But then there is also the need to have him if they qualify for the Champions League.

Camavinga is already a wonderful player, but he can still use some growth at Rennes at the age of 17. For all parties, including Rennes, it seems like staying another year with the Ligue 1 club is the best option.

Real Madrid will be relieved if Camavinga is indeed willing to resist tempting offers from other big clubs to play for Los Blancos, and it was previously reported that Camavinga, along with Lyon’s Rayan Cherki, views Real as their dream club.

Camavinga can be a game-changer in Los Blancos’ midfield. So Madridistas will be hoping Rennes are able to hold onto him before cashing in next summer.
