It’s always sad to see players leave Real Madrid, but these five men simply don’t have much of a future at the Santiago Bernabeu.

This summer will be a summer of goodbyes for Real Madrid, as they want to raise nearly 200 million euros in funds in order to be able to afford Kylian Mbappe next summer. Several key veteran players must leave, especially those with high wages.

Here are five players who don’t have a long-term future with Los Blancos and could be sold in this year’s summer transfer window.

RW Gareth Bale

It’s best to keep things brief with Gareth Bale, because a discussion on the Welsh forward can easily devolve into an unfair critique of the player. Bale has done everything he can for this club, winning cup finals with his brilliance. Who can forget the bicycle goal against Liverpool or the solo goal in the Copa del Rey?

But he should have been sold last summer and now Real Madrid are in a corner. Bale’s high wages, injury history, and poor 2019-2020 mean that he has no place in a squad with so many talented young wingers, such as Marco Asensio and Rodrygo Goes on the right.

Real and Bale must part ways, but can Los Blancos find the right suitor? That is the money question, especially in a window where rumors indicate Real may have to let Bale go for free.
