Real Madrid have many of the best young players in European football, and this statistic of La Liga’s youngest goal-scorers shows it.
Los Blancos have a great core of veteran players who are among the best in the world, such as Karim Benzema, Toni Kroos, and Sergio Ramos. But Real Madrid also have an enviable collection of young talent, either in the first-team squad or out on loan throughout Europe.
Last season, Real had three of the 10 youngest goal-scorers in the league on their books, meaning they were the only team in La Liga with more than one goal-scorer under 19 years of age and 159 days at the time of their goal.
Embedded below is the graphic from the official La Liga Twitter account showing the 10 youngest goal-scorers in the league for the 2019-2020 season.
It’s an impressive group, with wide forwards Rodrygo Goes and Vinicius Junior both on the list. Both men have the potential to become the absolute best players in the world, and they are already among the top wide forwards in their league.
But the youngest player on Real Madrid’s books to score in La Liga this season was Takefusa Kubo, who plied his trade at Mallorca. Kubo was so impressive for Mallorca that he will get a big loan move in 2020-2021, perhaps playing for a Champions League-qualifying side. Ajax and Sevilla are both interested.
Of course, the youngest goal-scorer belongs to Barcelona, as Ansu Fati is truly a special player who will one day be the biggest thorn in Real Madrid’s side. Though Real will have their own world-class attacking – and defensive – talent to counter the wonderful Fati.
Lee Kang-In and Ander Barrenetxea are two wonderful young players who rate among La Liga’s best, and they could perhaps pique Los Blancos’ interest one day. Leganes’ Bryan Gil impressed in the 2-2 draw with Real in the final game of the season, so many Madridistas will be familiar with him now.
But it’s wonderful to see how much great young talent Real Madrid have in their ranks. Kubo, Vinicius, and Rodrygo have special careers ahead of them.
