Real Madrid Transfers: Dortmund is the perfect place for Reinier
Real Madrid attacking midfielder Reinier Jesus could be headed to the Bundesliga in 2020-2021.
Reinier Jesus is the most recent Real Madrid signing, as the team spent 30 million euros to sign the attacking midfielder from Flamengo. His upside is tremendous, and he showed his world-class potential at Castilla, looking a cut above the rest with the goal threat he carried.
The 18-year-old is ready to play a role for a team in the top flight, but he will find it too difficult to get into Real Madrid’s midfield rotation, especially now that the club has recalled Martin Odegaard from Real Sociedad.
So Real Madrid are looking for the ideal loan destination for Reinier. Bayer Leverkusen have been linked, but now an even stronger Bundesliga club is showing interest in one of Los Blancos’ most promising prospects.
According to Mario Cortegana of AS, Dortmund has joined Bayer and Real Sociedad as prominent suitors for Reinier. Madridistas know full well that a loan opportunity at Dortmund is a huge one for a young player, because the exciting Bundesliga outfit can be trusted to give young players minutes. Achraf Hakimi blossomed into one of the world’s best during his two-year loan stay.
Reinier Jesus could develop like Achraf Hakimi did at Dortmund
Reinier could have a similar impact on the Black and Yellows in 2020-2021 and even 2021-2022 if a two-year loan agreement is reached. Since Marco Reus is dealing with injuries again and Jadon Sancho is seemingly on his way to Manchester United, Reinier could have the keys to the kingdom alongside the likes of Thorgan Hazard, Julian Brandt, and Real target Erling Haaland.
Real Sociedad could be a great landing spot, too, since they missed out on Takefusa Kubo and won’t have Odegaard anymore. Reinier could fill Odegaard’s shoes in the lineup. And Leverkusen are an exciting attacking team in their own right, with Reinier potentially getting to replace Kai Havertz alongside the likes of Florian Wirtz and Kerem Demirbay.
But at the end of the day, it’s hard to top Dortmund. They are a great club, their track record with young players is proven, Reinier will have a strong supporting cast in the attack, and the team always puts an emphasis on goals. So Reinier will have opportunities to shine in a competitive league and in the Champions League.
Dortmund and Leverkusen will be in tight competition for the young Brazilian’s signature, but if it comes down to the wire, don’t be surprised if Los Blancos favor the Black and Yellows.
