Here are five transfer targets Real Madrid fans should not expect.

Transfers may not be possible this year for Real Madrid this season. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the transfer window will be extremely different. The anticipated transfers will not happen because the top clubs have fell hard without having their fans in the stadiums. With that being said, here are a few names that Real Madrid have reached out to in the past but could not strike a deal.

Paul Pogba

Real Madrid indicated that they were interested in the French international after Real Madrid failed to win the La Liga and Champions League. In April, Florentino Perez drew a line and admitted the situation that Real Madrid may not be able to do anything this summer in the transfer window. The club itself has lost a lot of revenue after the coronavirus pandemic. Despite being league champions, Real will have to wait for any big-name transfers because they are all unrealistic at this point.

Raheem Sterling

Raheem Sterling did not refuse to rule out a transfer to Real Madrid. However, due to the resurgence of Marco Asensio, Rodrygo, and Martin Odegaard returning on loan, Raheem Sterling will remain in Manchester City until 2023. Sterling scored his 100th career goal against Real Madrid to knock them out in the Round of 16. Sterling described the “energy and passion” Manchester City brought in the 2-1 win in the second leg.

Virgil Van Dijk

Los Blancos will need a replacement for Sergio Ramos. However, Sergio Ramos is showing no signs of slowing down. The Spaniard is one of the four players on Real Madrid who are older than 30. Every player would find it hard to turn down Real Madrid or Barcelona. Van Dijk is best suited in Liverpool. He has won the Champions League and Premier League this season. He should remain at Liverpool.

Paulo Dybala

Paulo Dybala is not coming to Real either. Although, he would be sensational in Madrid, but a lot of news outlets have been barking up this tree for a couple of years now. With Cristiano Ronaldo there, I think Dybala will remain at Juventus.

Donny Van De Beek

Donny Van De Beek was never coming to Real. It is not in the clubs’ best interest to spend 55 million euros after they sunk a lot of money into Luka Jovic. Donny Van De Beek is happy at AJAX given Ronald Koeman wants to make him a priority signing at Barcelona this summer.
