The inception of HBA

Although we did see the return of Marco Asensio from injury in June, he is yet to start a match in an attack that consists of Eden Hazard and Karim Benzema.

The prospect of them leading Real Madrid’s frontline can easily get one’s expectations up ten-fold. Envisaging a fully fit Eden Hazard, a goal-hungry Karim Benzema, and a peppy Marco Asensio working in tandem already lightens up my eyes. Asensio on the right-wing is a source of mayhem. He can score goals. He can set his teammates up with his outrageous crossing ability. And do I even need to tell you about his mazy, darting runs that completely obliterate the opposition defence?

Hazard was unfortunate to have been hit by so many injuries. The month of November last season saw him deliver the sort of performances that made him one of the three best players of the Premier League in the last decade. We are yet to see the best of the Belgium captain, and I have no qualms that he will have the sort of impact his fellow Belgian teammate Thibaut Courtois had during the 2019-20 season.

It’s time you got pumped up for the HBA trident – Highly Bloodthirsty Attack!
