Real Madrid are fully expected to make a big push to sign Eduardo Camavinga in 2021.

It’s all about the 2021 summer transfer window for Real Madrid. They won’t be able to make any major signings in 2020, and while that likely frustrates fans, it’s all about seeing the big picture. The real game-changing transfers will take place in 2021, with Kylian Mbappe potentially available and Eduardo Camavinga most likely on the market.

Mbappe is the undoubted top target and would bring the goals, but Camavinga would be a top-class signing in his own right. Camavinga recently confirmed he will stay at Rennes for the 2020-2021 season, putting to bed any transfer rumors this summer.

And for Real Madrid fans, that’s great news. Camavinga has received interest from Bayern and strong interest from PSG, as everyone would love to get their hands on a 17-year-old center midfielder who can play world-class defense and nutmeg defenders with ease while progressing the ball for meters upon meters.

Camavinga could be a world-class player at the Santiago Bernabeu, and Real Madrid should be prepared to go all-in for the Rennes star in the summer 2021 transfer window.

Eduardo Camavinga could be Real Madrid’s to lose

The good news for Real is that they may not have to pay nearly as much as expected for him in 2021 either. According to Marco Ruiz of AS, Camavinga’s representative Moussa Sissoko calculated that if Camavinga does not renew with Rennes, he could be sold for a mere 40 million euros next summer.

That’s money Real Madrid can easily part ways with, and Camavinga is worth arguably double that amount of money, pending how the financial market in football looks by this time next year.

Last season, Camavinga was one of Ligue 1’s best overall players with 4.2 tackles per game and 1.4 interceptions per game, according to WhoScored.com. He has picked up where he left off in 2020-2021, recording three dribbles, a key pass, and 90 percent of his passes completed against an excellent Lille side.

Next. Four things for Real Madrid to look forward to. dark

If Real can manage to buy Camavinga for 40 million euros next summer, they will have landed the steal of the summer. PSG, Bayern, and other clubs will show interest, surely, but if Camavinga wants to go to Real Madrid, which is what many seem to be assuming at this point, then Los Blancos can get their man.
