Arsenal have been pushing to sign Dani Ceballos on another loan deal, but Real Madrid could send him to another notable club.

Real Madrid center midfielder Dani Ceballos enjoyed a productive 2019-2020 season with Arsenal, saving his best work for the portion of the season following the break forced by COVID-19. Ceballos became a key player for the Gunners, adding quality defending and crucial passing to the young team.

Mikel Arteta and Arsenal would understandably like to have such an impressive and important player back for the 2020-2021 season on loan, as a permanent deal is unlikely. But they’ve never been the only team interested in working with the talented young midfielder.

Real Betis and Valencia won’t give up their pursuit, with Betis likely holding an advantage due to Ceballos’ past history. But according to the Telegraph, Serie A’s AC Milan are the latest team to try and make a push to acquire Ceballos on loan.

Via AS, the first contacts between Milan and Real Madrid have “stalled”, but the ambitious Serie A club still sees Ceballos as a “clear objective” to their goals.

Dani Ceballos could be a huge help for Milan

Milan want to get back to being a big club in European football after years of mediocrity, as they were once spoken of in the same breath as clubs like Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. They have some quality pieces, but they want more.

Dani Ceballos would be a massive upgrade for them, and he’s not the only Real player they have been linked to this summer. The Rossoneri seemed to have interest in Luka Jovic on a loan deal, but that looks totally unlikely now.

Ceballos, however, is a possibility. It’s hard to see him going anywhere other than Arsenal if he’s loaned again, since he seems comfortable there and is a great fit under Arteta. But Milan have a good relationship with Los Blancos, so perhaps they can offer something that the Gunners can’t.

There’s no doubt that Ceballos is a wanted man. And remember, there’s always a slight chance Zinedine Zidane calls him back up for 2020-2021 if he needs to. It’s still unlikely, but after he called back Martin Odegaard from Real Sociedad, all options are on the table.
