Real Madrid attacking midfielder Takefusa Kubo is poised to have a huge season for Villarreal in 2020-2021.

Last season, Real Madrid loanee Takefusa Kubo showed why he is one of the biggest future stars in La Liga. He didn’t begin the season as a regular starter at Mallorca, which frustrated fans. But by the end of the season, he was the relegated side’s best player. The 19-year-old finished his rookie season with four goals and four assists, showing that he was ready for the next step.

Kubo’s next step in Spain’s top flight will be at Villarreal. He joined Unai Emery’s side on loan this summer as a priority addition to the squad for the new manager. The Japanese international could have a 2020-2021 season similar to Martin Odegaard’s incredible 2019-2020 campaign at Real Sociedad, as Emery could build the attack around his talents.

During a recent training session, Kubo showed off those prodigious talents by scoring an absolutely sublime backheel goal from a first-time cross while on the run.
