Real Madrid were the champions of La Liga last season, but there are still concerns to address.

The Spanish Supercup and the La Liga title with the best defensive record in Europe’s top 5 leagues, both in his first season coming back — Zinedine Zidane has only gone on to turn heads once again at Real Madrid.

The Blancos achieved a remarkable turnaround coming back to win the La Liga title after a disastrous season that saw them finish 3rd behind rivals Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

In a spectacular season that saw Real Madrid win their 34th title, Zidane completely masked their attacking woes as the spotlight focused more on their defensive organization. They won the Spanish League, losing only three times in a 38 game season, whilst having an unbeaten record at home. Zinedine Zidane decided to shift all his focus on the defensive aspect of games to compromise for lack of goals up front, and it was rewarded with the Merengues keeping the best defensive record in the modern era.

For the moment, the Frenchman seems to have put out the fires that had once ignited in the Royal Capital of Spain. But even for his reputed standards, he knows, if he doesn’t get his attack ticking again, the knives will be out gradually.

Zidane might have surpassed all expectations in his first season coming back, but still, there are a lot of questions that need to be addressed and a lot of problems that need to be solved.

While we are on the brink of a fresh new season, we take a look at the three major concerns that need addressing in the Los Blancos outfit.
