Real Madrid left winger Vinicius Junior is the future of the club, and he’s emulating the club’s leaders.
Vinicius Junior has everything it takes to become a Real Madrid legend. The 20-year-old has already come up big for the team in his first two years with the club, and no single moment exemplifies his class and will to win than his crucial first goal against Barcelona in March’s 2-0 Clasico victory.
The young Brazilian star took it upon himself to lead attack after attack against La Blaugrana, eventually finding the back of the net. Vinicius’ tireless work makes him one of La Liga’s most feared attacking players, and it also makes him a two-way winger who can attack and defend for Zinedine Zidane’s side.
He’s also a player who respects his elders and the established leaders in the club. In a recent interview with the Guardian, the young Madridista named Casemiro and captain Sergio Ramos as the two players on the team he looks up to the most:
"“We can see that they are worried about us younger players, because we are the present and future of Real Madrid. At the age of 20, only Casillas and Raúl have played more games than me and they are legends here. They won a lot of titles and I hope that I can do that as well. Sergio Ramos and Casemiro are my greatest examples here. I see them training and I want to do that too. All of my colleagues are very focused, but their work ethic pushes me harder and harder.”"
Vinicius Junior is ready to produce more moments of magic for Real Madrid
It’s wonderful to hear that Real Madrid’s veteran players look out for the rising stars and the next generation. Vinicius is definitely a player with the mentality to become the next great leader at the Santiago Bernabeu, as well as the skills to produce more magic on the pitch in the biggest games.
Ramos is a player who knows about producing moments of magic in the most important matches. Just ask Atletico Madrid. And Casemrio is another big-game player who had two fine Clasico performances this past season, putting Lionel Messi in his back pocket.
We’ve heard about how Casemiro has given advice to Vinicius, encouraging him to shoot and keep his head up. It was Casemiro who advised Vini before the left winger scored the decisive goal against Barcelona earlier this year.
Vinicius is one of the world’s best young players, and Real Madrid fans cannot wait to see what he does in 2020-2021. He shares the same position as Eden Hazard, but based on what he did in his second season at the Bernabeu, Vini is ready for even more playing time and responsibility next season. He’s doing everything the right way.
