Real Madrid: 3 big questions for Marco Asensio before 2020-2021
Can Marco Asensio put his injury struggles to bed?
Marco Asensio was an integral part of Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane’s plans and had to the majority of the season on the touchlines with what was a career-threatening injury. Despite his surgery, both the club and the star player are trying to be cautious with the handling of the injury.
Zidane has been clear that he will not rush things when it comes to the player. The Spaniard had to recently leave national duty due to edema and swelling in his operated knee and reports have suggested that this was to avoid any aggravation of the injury.
He will continue his recovery at Real Madrid as he attempts to stay fit for the upcoming season. Major injuries like the one Asensio had often throw up recurring problems, therefore both Asensio and the club have to be wary enough to ensure that his injury problems are minimal.
This will be an important season for Asensio as the attacking midfielder’s performances will be essential to give Los Blancos’ shaky attack a much-needed boost, whilst also keeping an eye on the upcoming European Championships as he will hope to be a key part of the Spain squad.
