Real Madrid: Eden Hazard looks fantastic in training (Video)
There has been a lot of unfair speculation about Real Madrid left winger Eden Hazard’s physical condition heading into the 2020-2021 season.
Real Madrid fans have high expectations for their club, and, by extension, the players in the club. As a 100 million euro acquisition who was regarded as the best player in the Premier League for five years, Eden Hazard has carried a weight of expectations with him.
Hazard delivered on them in the Fall with some sublime performances as a primary creator, starting attacks and carrying the ball with untouchable class. But after an ankle injury against PSG in the Champions League, Hazard’s season was never really the same.
Concern about Hazard’s ankle injury is warranted, but lately we’ve seen a lot of attacks about Hazard’s physical condition and dietary habits. Entire stories were published about Real Madrid being angry with Hazard for this reason, and the discussion spread throughout social media.
All of this should have never happened in the first place Hazard is a great player who is dealing with a mental block due to a serious, recurring ankle issue, and that is the only issue here. His weight is not really a topic for discussion, and it has never hindered his illustrious career.
Eden Hazard is putting in the work for Real Madrid
Real Madrid Info shared a video on Twitter of Eden Hazard doing push-ups and lifting weights, training hard for the upcoming 2020-2021 La Liga and Champions League seasons.
Hazard knows that nothing is guaranteed for him next season. He could very well ride the bench behind Vinicius Junior, who is just as impressive of a ball-carrier and an even better defensive winger than him. Plus, Vini is the future of the club. Real Madrid will give him every opportunity to seize the moment in his third season with the club.
So Hazard knows all this and knows that he has high expectations for himself. As critical as Madridistas can be, surely Hazard is a much more forceful critic than even I. This man has put in the work for years, establishing himself as the best player in Ligue 1 and then the Premier League before making his way to La Liga.
Look at the determination in his eyes during training or workouts or when he steps onto the pitch. If Hazard doesn’t shine in 2020-2021, then it won’t be for a lack of trying. Blame the injury, don’t blame the player and use something as silly as his weight as a scapegoat.
