3. Another tremendous match between Real Madrid and Real Sociedad

The first meeting between Real Madrid and Real Sociedad in 2019-2020 was a 3-1 blowout in Los Blancos’ favor, spearheaded by magnificent performances from Karim Benzema and Eden Hazard. Their second meeting, in the Copa del Rey, was a miserable one for Madridistas, but neutrals were enthralled by the 4-3 spectacle and by Sociedad’s gutsy upset victory.

Finally, the third 2019-2020 matchup between these two sides was a 2-1 victory for Real Madrid. It was a more cagey affair that could have gone either way, with both managers having a real chess match in the second half as Los Merengues desperately defended their lead.

All three games were quite different, but all were entertaining all the same. Real Madrid fans have been watching other La Liga matches and some Premier League and Ligue 1 games, too, (all eyes on Eduardo Camavinga, of course), but there’s nothing like watching the Royal Whites play.

The wait since the loss to Manchester City in early August is now over. More than a month later, Los Blancos will take the pitch again on Sept. 20 against a La Liga side that can give them another real challenge. There are a lot of storylines to watch out for, but there’s nothing that brings fans more joy than seeing their favorite club back in action, especially against a team that will serve as a good early indicator for Real Madrid in 2020-2021.
