Real Madrid’s top transfer target for 2021 and beyond is undoubtedly Kylian Mbappe, and Madridistas heard some more good news about this possible move.

It is imperative for Real Madrid fans to avoid getting ahead of themselves. Kylian Mbappe seems to have a great deal of admiration for Los Blancos and Zinedine Zidane, but assuming he will join the club is a dangerous game.

Even so, it is understandable why Real fans are so excited about the prospect of Mbappe joining the club. A global superstar already at the age of 21, the 2018 World Cup winner is one of the world’s most prolific goal-scorers. Capable of starting at all three forward positions in the traditional 4-3-3 setup that Real Madrid, like PSG, employs, Mbappe would single-handedly solve Real’s biggest problems. Goals.

According to a report from Josep Pedrerol on El Chiringuito TV, via @Ultra_Suristic, Kylian Mbappe is now “closer” to signing with Real Madrid.

Real Madrid have been working hard to set up a Kylian Mbappe signing

This report comes after Libertad Digital’s Sergio Valentin reported, all the meetings Florentino Perez and Real Madrid have done this summer to slowly build towards making a real attempt to sign Mbappe in the summer 2021 transfer window, which is THE time to make a move. They have met with both Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar who has final say on the deal, and Mbappe’s father.

It may all be coming together for Real Madrid, but the big question is if they can afford to make such a grand transfer next year. Signing Mbappe would almost assuredly break the transfer record, and while it would be worth it from Los Blancos’ perspective, it would not be an easy undertaking at all.

That’s why Real have been so stringent this summer. No major signings so that Mbappe can be afforded next summer. Perez has his grand plan and target in sight, and while a report in September of 2020 means little in the grand scheme of things, Madridistas dreaming of seeing Mbappe at the Santiago Bernabeu will take this positive news nugget to heart.
