It’s a shame more football fans don’t know about Chioma Ubogagu, because the former Orlando Pride wide midfielder is one of the best players in the world. She is a Galactica on the level of Kosovare Asllani, and it is also a shame she hasn’t been given a chance to show her star power for the England natioanl team.

Ubogagu didn’t start every game for Las Blancas in 2019-2020, so she wasn’t viewed as being as crucial to the cause as Asllani. Next season, she should join Asllani as undroppable, because she can be a great scoring left winger with the ball-carrying ability and work ethic to help her teammates score.

While Ubogagu won’t be the top assist provider or goal-scorer, she can be near the top of the list for both. Her game is about more than goals. It’s about pressing, tracking back, picking out the right pass, and always looking to get either the ball or herself into the box.

At 28, Ubogagu is in the prime of her career and ready for a breakout season. Real Madrid made a brilliant decision to sign her in the summer of 2019, and they need to keep the faith in her ability to be a true star player for Las Blancas. Do not overlook what she brings to the table.
