Real Madrid DM Casemiro

If Real Madrid are to win on Saturday, then they need to have a big game from Casemiro. Last season, Casemiro was one of the most worked players in La Liga, as he was an every-game starter in defensive midfield for Real. Los Blancos don’t have another true defensive midfielder, so they were forced to play him whenever possible.

But Casemiro didn’t start on Matchday 2 against Real Sociedad, as Zinedine Zidane rolled with Toni Kroos and Luka Modric. So Casemiro will be extra-fresh against Real Betis, which is a good thing since Betis boast the trio of Nabil Fekir, Sergio Canales, and Joaquin.

Those three players are technically prolific, creative, and capable of scoring multiple goals in the game. They are danger men, especially under the leadership of Manuel Pellegrini. But Casemiro has kept even better players, such as Lionel Messi, quiet in 2020, so with a strong performance on Matchday 3, he could seal Man of the Match honors.

Casemiro’s offensive contributions can sometimes get overlooked, but this man is capable of scoring wondergoals and clutch goals. Just ask Espanyol and Sevilla, for example, who both had their hearts sunk by winners from Casemiro, who secured backheels from a striker before depositing the crucial goal for Los Blancos.
