Primera Iberdrola is right around the corner. With as many as 9 new signings for the team, Las Blancas are surely going to be the dark horses heading into the new season. Let’s take a look at the strongest possible line-up for Real Madrid Femenino.

After nine new signings, weeks of training, and a flurry of excitement, Real Madrid Femenino look set to challenge the supremacy of teams like Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, and Athletic Bilbao in Primera Iberdrola.

I don’t think Real Madrid Femenino could have played their first-ever against a better opponent than Barcelona to begin their journey in women’s football. Come Oct. 4, Real Madrid Femenino and Barcelona Femení will face-off in what will be the first-ever Women’s El Clasico!

Since I am only started following women’s football after June/July, I am not sure how things will pan out for Real Madrid Femenino when they face Barcelona Femení. Last season, CD Tacon (as Real Madrid Femenino was called before the takeover) were handed a 9-1 drubbing by the Catalan outfit. This time around, it might be a much tighter battle between the two heavyweights. It seems to be one, at least on paper.

David Aznar, the coach of Las Blancas, will have plenty of permutations and combinations to try out in order to find out what works best for the team. One thing that we should know for sure is that out of the nine new signings, some of them will slot right into the starting XI without much debate.

In this article, I will try to provide the strongest possible starting lineup for Real Madrid Femenino, although how Aznar selects his teams will also vary from week to week because he will be looking to try various formations, and not every formation will be suited to a particular player’s playing style.

The formation that I believe would work best for the team would be a 4-2-3-1.
