Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal is sidelined for at least two months with an MCL injury.
Real Madrid released an official statement on Oct. 2 regarding the injury of Spaniard Dani Carvajal. With so many important ahead, it’s a huge blow for the Los Blancos as their injury list keeps growing. Carvajal plays a vital role in Madrid’s first team, and he has been a regular starter after Alvaro Arbeloa.
With him out for a couple of months, it must be a headache for Zidane to play someone at that position. Obviously, Real Madrid has potential players who can fill Carva’s boots, but they lack experience and playing time in this squad. Let us see who all can step up and contribute to this team by showing quality on the pitch.
Real Madrid RB Álvaro Odriozola
Odriozola is the only right-back left after Carvajal as Real Madrid sold their Moroccan full-back, Achraf Hakimi, to Inter Milan this summer. Odriozola is back this summer after completing his loan spell at FC Bayern Munich. He has been amazing in all these years whenever he is called for Madrid. Zidane will show his trust in the Spaniard. Odriozola started on Matchday 4 for Los Blancos. He showed some great positivity in the game.
But the Spaniard has to wait for his chance for at least two to three weeks as the club has released an official statement regarding his calf injury that occurred in a training session. But this is a matter of two to three weeks; he will be back in no time. Odriozola will play a vital role in Zidane’s squad for the upcoming season, and he needs to step up as these opportunities will decide his future at this club.
Real Madrid CB Nacho
Nacho, the Castilla man who has been with the club for numerous years, is the most versatile and loyal player for Los Blancos. He has been helping Madrid’s backline for several years now. He plays at any position in a back four. He is not a regular starter for Zidane, but he will surely give his best for his beloved club in the absence of his Spanish colleague.
Nacho will play an important role in the Zidane squad as both natural right backs are injured. His versatility will help the Los Blancos side to win some games ahead of this season. Nacho is a fan favorite everyone including Zidane loves the Spaniard for his loyalty to this club. Let’s see how Zidane plays Nacho in the absence of Carvajal.
Real Madrid RW Lucas Vázquez
Lucas Vázquez’s initial position is not a full bac. He plays as a winger for Madrid. But in recent years Zidane has used Vázquez in that position, he used Vázquez against Bayern in the UCL knockout where he played an amazing game. Vázquez is one of the most trusted players in Zidane’s squad. It won’t be a surprise if he starts ahead of others in Carvajal’s position.
Vazquez, Nacho, and Odriozola will be a key to Zidane’s side in the absence of number one choice Dani Carvajal. Eder Militao who is recovering from an injury is expected to be back in training on Oct. 16 and will be another option for Zidane as back up. The Brazilian played in the right-back position in his Porto days. Let’s see how Zidane manages to win games with an important player sidelined for a couple of months.
