The Madrid derby is one of the most entertaining football games. These two sides face each other every year with high intensity on the pitch and some amazing players battling for the pride of the city. With so many amazing derbies it hard to choose the best. But this one played in Milan was the best in the last five-year span.

After the 2014 Champions league final the Spanish giants met again in 2016 at the same platform once again. Both had a difficult path in reaching the finals. Regulation time ended at 1-1 when club captain Sergio Ramos scored early and later in the 79th min of the game Yannick Carrasco struck thee equalizer for the Red and whites.

Later after extra time, the game went into penalties and ended 5-4 in Real’s side with all of them scoring, and from Atletico’s side Spanish international Juanfran hit the woodwork and missed the penalty. This was Zidane’s first trophy with the club as a manager. To win the UCL with Madrid against their local rivals must be an amazing feeling.

El Derbi is one of the most important games as a fan and for a player to play for the pride of the city is a difficult task. This is personally my favorite fixture it has high intensity, and you just couldn’t leave your seat for any part of the 90 minutes.
