Real Madrid Femenino: Predicted XI For The Match vs. Valencia

Real Madrid Attack
Sofia Jakobsson
Up until the 70th minute against Barcelona, when Sofia Jakobsson was brought on for Olga Carmona, the Real Madrid Femenino frontline was struggling to make their way into the final third. Apart from the incorrectly ruled out goal of Kosovare Asllani and a few other small chances, Las Blancas were out of ideas when it came to venturing into the opposition box.
With Jakobsson’s introduction, the team was injected with a lot of directness and pace. The Swede had an instant impact and wreaked more havoc in her 20-minute appearance than the entire team could in the rest of the match. She is a must in the lineup if Real Madrid Femenino are to register their first points in the league.
Marta Cardona
The 25-year-old was very positive in her approach. She tried to make things happen, to invade the Barcelona final third, to score a goal. For all her endeavors, it just wasn’t to be. We can take one positive away from her performance, and that would be that she was brimming with confidence throughout the match, something that only grew as the match progressed.
Her chemistry with Kosovare Asllani and Sofia Jakobsson was a treat to the eye, and she could have bagged a goal had she successfully tapped in the cross from Jakobsson.
Kosovare Asllani
Kosovare Asllani could be to the women’s team what Karim Benzema is to the men’s team – simply undroppable. She is the most important piece of the attacking puzzle. Her ability to involve everyone else in the game is top-notch and much like Big Benz, Asllani’s game is much more than just goals.
She might not score at the rate of a goal per game, but her value to the team is unprecedented. She is clearly one of the best players in the team and will be a huge weapon against Valencia, a team that Real Madrid Femenino should manage to beat.
