It’s time to review the performances of every Real Madrid player for the month of September.

Real Madrid played three games in the month of September to begin their 2020-21 season, winning two games and drawing one, the very first game of La Liga Santander against Real Sociedad.

With every passing game, the team is starting to get back into the rhythm and it is only a matter of time before the team clicks into an altogether different gear. The absence of players like Eden Hazard and Toni Kroos hasn’t helped either.

While Zinedine Zidane tries to find his ideal starting XI, we review the performance of every Real Madrid player for the month of September.

It’s quite wonderful to see the arc that Thibaut Courtois has completed. From being booed to being one of the most important players of the team, the Belgian has come a long way at the Santiago Bernabéu.

It was another month of super shot-stopping from Courtois, something which has become rather obvious with every passing week. He has really carved out a niche for himself at Real Madrid and it’s due to his goalkeeping exploits that Real went into the international break as table toppers.

He will be one of the most crucial players if Real are to win the El Clasico this month since Barcelona look to be playing very fluid football under Ronald Koeman and the humiliating 8-2 drubbing at the hands of Bayern Munich seems a distant memory.

Thibaut Courtois is the undisputed starter between the sticks, so we might have to wait a bit more before we can see Andriy Lunin make his official Real Madrid debut.

Being the third-choice goalkeeper, I don’t see Diego Altube making a debut for Real Madrid unless both Thibaut Courtois and Andriy Lunin get injured (god forbid).
