Real Madrid have been saving every cent in order to sign Kylian Mbappe next summer, and the PSG superstar may cost less than anticipated.

Every week Kylian Mbappe dazzles for PSG is another week Real Madrid fans dream of signing the French international in 2021. And after Mbappe’s brace in a 4-0 win over Nimes, which included a Ronaldo-esque goal around the goalkeeper, Los Blancos lost 1-0 in a lifeless performance against newly-promoted Cadiz. So naturally, the Mbappe wishes are that much stronger.

Real Madrid know they will have to part with something of significance in order to convince the owners in Qatar and PSG sporting director Leonardo to sell Mbappe, even with the player having just one year left on his deal. As Barcelona can attest, PSG do not give lenient discounts.

The good news is that Mbappe could cost less than the approximately 180 million euros most transfer valuation services, such as Transfermarkt, have him valued at.

How much could Kylian Mbappe cost Real Madrid?

According to a report from Sergio Santos Chozas of AS, Kylian Mbappe could cost Real Madrid just 130 to 150 million euros next summer since he has only one year left on his deal. PSG would have to risk losing him for free in 2022 if they cannot renew him. And given how many times Mbappe has winked towards Real and their club legends, he may have no intention of staying in Paris at any price.

Mbappe is THE target for Los Blancos. They cannot act as if he is guaranteed to head to Madrid, because PSG were Champions League finalists last season and Mbappe has developed quite the attacking partnership with Neymar.

But there is so much favoring Real, including their brand value and Zinedine Zidane in the manager’s seat. What could be most compelling to Mbappe, though, is the chance to have a new challenge and be the featured player in Madrid in their rise back to “world’s best” status. He would have supporting players, but he would also be the unquestioned top star.
