Forwards

Marco Asensio – 6.5/10

It was not an electric performance from Asensio but did a lot of basics right. He kept the ball moving in attack and covered for his right-back well to keep the flank shut.

Eden Hazard – 7.5/10

Hazard struggled to get into the game early in the first half but gradually found a connection with his teammates. The Belgian scored a belter after turning his marker from outside the box. He got better in the second half, a positive sign for Real Madrid.

Karim Benzema – 8.5/10

Benzema had a quiet first 45 minutes until his well-taken goal right at the end of the half. He grew into the game after that, assisted for Valverde’s goal, and snatched his second of the day to give Real Madrid a 4-1 victory.

Substitutes

Ferland Mendy – 6.5/10

Mendy replaced Vazquez in the second half and looked good. He positioned himself well and kept things tight for the most part.

The Frenchman could have done better to prevent the buildup on the third goal.

Rodrygo – 7/10

Rodrygo was lively on the right. He was not afraid to take on players and created plenty of danger. He could have done better with his decision making on a breakaway late in the match. Rodrygo also provided an assist for Benzema’s second.

Vinicius Junior – 7/10

Vinicius looked good when he came on in the second half. He made a brilliant run that led to a Benzema chance. The young winger completed three dribbles and served three key passes.

Isco – 6.5/10

Isco came in and helped Real Madrid keep control of the ball. He had some bright individual moments and got into a great position that almost led to a goal.
