Real Madrid are always in the market for the best young players in world football, and here are five stars they should have on their radar.

Next summer, Real Madrid will be buyers in the transfer market after avoiding any signings in the 2020 summer tranfer window. Los Blancos have Kylian Mbappe at the top of their list, but he is far from the only player who can make a difference for Real one day, even if he is the clear top target for a reason.

Mbappe is now 21, but let’s take a look at some younger players who should also interest Real Madrid in 2021 and 2022 as possible starters or developing stars for the team.

Rennes CM Eduardo Camavinga

First up on the list is Eduardo Camavinga, who is the best U-21 player in the world alongside Erling Haaland. In fact, is 18 and is already one of the best center midfielders in Europe, having broken out last season at Rennes.

Camavinga should cost Real upwards of 50 million euros, but he’s worth that much. You can’t name many young midfielders who are as composed or well-rounded as Camavinga, and his upside is through the roof. He could be the future of Real Madrid’s midfield alongside Fede Valverde and is even more technically prolific than the Uruguayan.

A strong defender, Camavinga averaged a whopping 4.2 tackles per game and 1.4 interceptions per game last season, according to WhoScored.com. He has been solid to start the 2020-2021 season, too.

Camavinga is young and has been at the top level for less than two years, so he is a risk in that sense. But he’s less risky than some of the other players Real Madrid have signed for 50 million euros, even if the price was boosted by them being attacking players.

Real should consider Camavinga their second priority in 2021 after Mbappe.
