Real Madrid will need to sign Sergio Ramos to a new contract before the season ends, but what is his stance amidst rumors?

PSG and Juventus. Even Liverpool and Tottenham? There are suitors for Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos, who was second on the team in goals last season and reminds one of the finest center backs on this planet.

A leader for Real Madrid and the team’s most important player, Ramos is on an expiring contract. At the end of the 2020-2021 season, Ramos would be a free agent if Real do not sign him to an extension, which could now be for two years instead of the usual year-to-year negotiations for players of his age (34).

The likes of PSG are lurking, but Madridistas should not be worried. It would be a shock for Real Madrid to drop the ball on this, as Ramos and Real are made for each other. He is a club legend on the level of Raul or Alfredo Di Stefano. For him to leave at any point would be a shock.

According to a report from Manolo Lama of COPE, Sergio Ramos is not going to listen to any offers from any club until he talks to Real Madrid first. He has not spoken to Los Blancos yet, but his “priority” is reportedly to stay with the club he captains.

It’s an important stance from Ramos and one that makes it even clearer to Madridistas that Ramos, barring an unforeseen error from the club itself, is staying, hopefully for two more years.

Ramos means everything to Madrid, and it is wonderful to hear that he is not even thinking about other clubs. PSG and the rest can wait and even beg, but all Florentino Perez and the Whites need to do is make the call. And talk. Then, a deal should happen.

Maybe PSG could offer more money, but Ramos’ legacy is in Madrid. There is more on the table here than euro signs for Ramos, because he is a special player to Madrid. That in itself is an understatement.

We’re all waiting for the good news, but it is only a matter of time before we hear the words. The only question most of us have is, why is it taking so long? It is the only source of intrigue, because, based on the reports out there, Ramos is ready to re-sig
