Real Madrid: Player Ratings from the 1-2 loss against Deportivo Alaves
Real Madrid player ratings as Los Blancos drop three points with a 1-2 loss at home in a lackluster performance against Deportivo Alaves.
Real Madrid ended November without a single win in La Liga following a 1-2 defeat against Deportivo Alaves at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano. Goals from Lucas Perez from the spot and Joselu on either side of halftime awarded Alaves the three points. Alaves scored early in the first-half after Nacho conceded a penalty following a handball. Individual mistakes did not stop there for Los Blancos as Thibaut Courtois gifted a goal to Joselo with a bad pass out of the back.
Zinedine Zidane decided to rotate his squad after starting the same eleven in two straight matches. Marcelo, Casemiro, and Asensio got the start, with Ferland Mendy and Martin Odegaard getting the rest and Carvajal missing due to injury.
Here is how the Real Madrid players performed.
Manager
Zinedine Zidane – 5/10
Zidane cannot get the blame for the way his team conceded the two goals. However, he should get questioned for his pick of players and how the players started the first half. His decision to start Luka Modric in his fifth straight game in under two weeks while resting Ferland Mendy for Marcelo did not work out well for Real Madrid. Los Blancos also started the match in a lax manner and did not get into the game until 25-30th minutes.
Goalkeeper
Thibaut Courtois – 5.5/10
Thibaut Courtois made a couple of brilliant saves in the game, but he also made a disaster of a mistake that gave D.Alaves their second goal.
