Injuries

Like at this point last season, the injuries started piling up like clothes in the laundry. Zinedine Zidane hasn’t been able to use his preferred lineup even once this season. Eden Hazard was suffering from injury and then had to self isolate due to COVID-19, snd was subbed off in the first half again vs Alaves.

Dani Carvajal was injured for a long time, came back for two games and got injured again. Martin Odegaard was out for a few weeks himself. Fede Valverde, who has been the team’s best player, will be out for a few more games. Marco Asensio, also, had minor injury issues at the start of the season. Karim Benzema was ruled out for weeks, and has been named in the squad after three games. Sergio Ramos is still out.

That’s only to name a few, in reality, there are a few others that have been injured for a while. Zidane knows he has to make do with what he has, and he still should be getting results even without the players, but can you blame him fully? I don’t think so. It’s unfortunate that so many injuries have happened in such a short span of time. He should be doing better with the squad that he has right now, but he would be doing a lot better with all players being fit, but life isn’t always kind.
