Real Madrid have considered looking into other options following the loss against Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Champions League Group stage fixture

Real Madrid currently finds themselves in troubled waters under Zinedine Zidane as Los Blancos near the possibility of playing in the UEFA Europa League of the 2020/21 season. After suffering another loss against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League, reports claim that the officials at the Santiago Bernabeu have had enough with the French manager in charge.

The 2019/20 La Liga champions have been awful in the league this season and as well in the Champions League. Real have been handed defeats at the hands of Cadiz, Valencia and at Deportivo Alaves meanwhile, the club has faced the same fate in the Champions League as Shakhtar completed a shocking double victory over Real.

Reports now state that Zinedine Zidane could be dismissed from his duty as the first team manager in the next 24 hours.  It has also been reported that Los Blancos are looking into the option of hiring former Espanyol and Tottenham Hotspur manager, Mauricio Pochettino as the first team manager. Some even claim that the officials have even contacted Raul and Guti Hernandez as possible replacements.

If Zidane is shown the door tonight then indeed it would be a major loss for the club given the success the Frenchman has achieved at Real over his two tenures. However, many believe that the club seriously needs a revamp or a whitewash after a pathetic display in the Champions League.

The loss against Shakhtar Donetsk has seen pictures gone viral on social media about the lack of awareness amongst Los Blancos players when on the defensive transition. This indeed could be a sign that Zidane has lost the plot tactically as a manager and could face the sack shortly. However, the decision is vested in the hands of Florentino Perez who has blind faith in the Frenchman’s capability and ability to lead the club back to glory days.
