Real Madrid are considering a managerial change as Zidane is a dead-man walking and have now given their coach an ultimatum.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is now facing the heat on his hot seat as Shakhtar Donetsk compounded the misery on him with a 2-0 win in Kiev on Tuesday evening. The Frenchman’s tactics and substitutions have drawn several criticisms, more so when the players he has omitted are usually the ones who are doing better in their limited minutes.

Next week, the Whites face a do or die challenge when they host Borussia Monchengladbach at the Alfredo di Stefano Stadium. The Bundesliga side has already thwarted the Whites once, in a 2-2 draw in Germany, but this time around Zinedine Zidane and his men will have little room for error, especially on home turf.

Cope has claimed that the 48-year-old may well be living his final days as a Madrid boss and next week’s challenge could define his fate. In the event that Los Vikingos are knocked out of the Champions League in the group stage itself, the coach will be sacked and there will be no reverses on the decision made by Florentino Perez.

Zidane has done incredibly well for the club and needless to say, he is already one of their greatest managers. However, sometimes a change is needed and this time around, it is a situation where a tactically astute manager should come in and take charge. Moreover, if the club and coach part soon, it will at least preserve Zizou’s legacy.

Mauricio Pochettino has been without a job since being sacked by Tottenham Hotspur last year and is considered a frontrunner to grab the job. Meanwhile, Raul could also be promoted from Castilla as was done with Santiago Solari and Zidane himself. On a side note, Massimiliano Allegri and Laurent Blanc are available too.
