Two important players from Real Madrid have decided to shun an offer from Ronaldo to join him at Juventus in the 2021 transfer windows.

Real Madrid sold Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus two summers ago. It’s fair to say that the Portugal international has gone on to achieve the expected heights in Italy, but he is still to guide the Serie A champions to the Champions League title. While Ronaldo has come up with his heroics, the Bianconeri require a lot more to win the European Cup in the upcoming seasons.

Los Blancos’ greatest marksman of all-time wanted Juventus to raid his former employers, but reports claim that his wishes will not be granted. Isco and Sergio Ramos are the two players that Ronaldo wanted at the Allianz Stadium and their contrasting situations mean they will be very much open to transfers- though for different reasons.

Given the emergence of the likes of Federico Valverde and Martin Odegaard, Isco has seen his minutes numbered and his father has revealed that the player is open to moving away to greener pastures. The Spaniard was a big part of the Whites’ Champions League success under Zinedine Zidane but has fallen out of favour of late.

Everton are thought to be hovering over the services of the ex-Malaga midfielder but what is clear is that Juventus will not be getting their hands onto Isco. The 28-year-old is more inclined towards joining the Premier League and his departure from the Santiago Bernabeu seems imminent and only a matter of time.

On the flipside, Ramos sees his deal expire at the end of 2020/21 and can legally negotiate a contract with clubs outside of Spain in less than a month from now. The club and the captain were supposedly on crossroads lately over the contract renewal, with Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain keeping a close eye on the world-class centre-back’s situation.

Florentino Perez though is ready to ultimately fulfil the wishes of Ramos and grant him a two-year extension, which means that he will stay at the club. As such, all things pointed towards him staying and now the air seems to be clearer than before. The 34-year-old had used foreign interest as bait to renew in the past and this time may have been similar too.

It is surely a sigh of relief for Madrid that Ramos will stay and their Champions League difference-maker won’t join a direct rival.
