The players of Real Madrid have backed Zinedine Zidane to continue as the club’s manager. However, the Frenchman could be dismissed based on the performance against Monchengladbach

Zinedine Zidane’s career at Real Madrid is on the line today as Los Blancos are set to host Borussia Monchengladbach at the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium. The fixture could be considered as a make or break for both the sides as a win will seal their qualification into the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League knockout stages. However, if Real loses, the club could possibly then seal their entry into the Europa League.

A club like Real Madrid and its stature along with its European heritage simply cannot be playing in the Europa League. Having said that, Zinedine Zidane could be dismissed from his duties if Los Blancos lose against Borussia Monchengladbach.

However, Eduardo Inda stated in an interview on El Chiringuito Tv that Zinedine Zidane has the backing of the squad going into the game against Monchengladbach. The journalist went on to state that the players believe in the Frenchman to restore glory at the club. However, only Marcelo and Isco are the two players that have lost trust in Zidane.

The last statement regarding Marcelo and Isco seems to be quite contradictory. The Brazilian left-back shares a strong bond with Zinedine Zidane and the manager has handed the 32-year-old several starts despite his poor performances. However, Isco losing faith in Zidane could be true since the Spanish midfielder desperately wants a move out of the Bernabeu and is quite literally fed up by the lack of game time.

Nonetheless, Sergio Ramos is back in the squad after recovering from his hamstring injury. The Spanish defender will lead the backline that has been tormented in the past few fixtures due to his absence. Dani Carvajal has also returned to the squad which will provide Zidane more stability on the right-flank while attacking and defending since the right-back is equally strong in both these situations. The return of both these players could prove to be pivotal for Real Madrid to secure their qualification in the Round of 16 and for Zinedine Zidane to secure his job.
