Real Madrid may be in for a managerial change with Zidane still walking a tightrope and the Frenchman’s most likely successor has ambitious targets.

Real Madrid may have rescued Zinedine Zidane for the time being, courtesy of knockout progression in the Champions League but another streak of bad results is very likely to spell the Frenchman’s end at the Madrid helm. With that said, Mauricio Pochettino seems to be the unanimous successor to the 3-time Champions League winning coach.

Pochettino was fired by Tottenham over a year ago but remains without a coaching role till date despite being heavily linked with the likes of Barcelona and Manchester United lately, apart from Real Madrid. However, he decided against choosing any role in the past but the time may be for him to return to management with Los Merengues.

Florentino Perez’s directorial members have already contacted the manager, according to the Express, and he wants a slight level of control over the club’s transfers. At the very least, the Argentine wants to land two of the best Tottenham Hotspur players from his reign in Dele Alli and Harry Kane at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium next summer.

Alli has been frozen out by Jose Mourinho and his frustration peaked on Thursday as the Englishman left the bench ahead of full-time in the Europa League match. Paris Saint-Germain are among those linked with a move for him but it’s very unlikely to see Spurs letting him go permanently as Daniel Levy still regards Alli very highly.

Kane on the other hand, is having a terrific season and is slashing records one after the other. However, he has indicated that failure in winning silverware in north London may see him opt for newer pastures. Given that Spurs now have one of the world’s greatest managers and their best team of late, Kane may genuinely leave if they fail to win big.

Daniel Levy is a notorious man when it comes to negotiating and will do everything in his power to keep Alli and Kane at Tottenham, but it is unlikely that Madrid will even step in his way to start with. Kylian Mbappe is and will be the focus of attention in the Spanish capital and recent focus suggests a change in personnel may also see Erling Haaland arrive.

Harry Kane will be costly at over 100 million euros and Madrid are unlikely to spend that much for a 27-year-old, whereas it is very hard to see Dele Alli even making the substitutes in the current Real Madrid squad. Pochettino may well arrive at the Bernabeu ahead of next summer but his demands may go unfulfilled with bigger agendas already on the table.
