Real Madrid have received a golden shot at signing Erling Haaland of Borussia Dortmund after Bayern Munich’s recent decision on signing the Norwegian ace

Real Madrid stunned the world and defied all odds as the Spanish club managed to win their do-or-die fixture against Borussia Monchengladbach. Two goals from Karim Benzema in the first half were sufficient for Real to secure their much needed three points and to progress into the Round of 16 as the leaders of Group B.

A clutch performance from Karim Benzema in the frontline did come in handy for Los Blancos but the question still remains on which other forward in the current squad can step up like the Frenchman.

Eden Hazard still struggles with keeping fit meanwhile Marco Asensio has lost a yard of pace since his injury and has not really hit the right note since recovering.  Luka Jovic has the potential to be the next big thing but the Serbian is rather misfortunate or unlucky as it is either an injury or Zidane’s decision to not play the striker at all.

Having said that, Real really does require another target man in the box and a player that can potentially fill in the shoes of Karim Benzema One such player is Erling Haaland of Borussia Dortmund who would fit like a glove in this Madrid side under Zidane.

Haaland’s goal-scoring capabilities have caught the eyes of several top clubs including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City. However, Bayern Munich’s chairman’s recent statement on the plausible signing of Haaland seems like Madrid has a better shot at signing the Norwegian.

"Haaland is fine in Dortmund and honestly, as long as we have this Lewandowski, we don’t need him – Bayern Munich Chairman on Haaland"

With Bayern backing out from signing Haaland it seems like Los Blancos are the favourites to sign the striker. In 2022, Haaland will be available for just 75 million euros and a report from OKDiaro states that Martin Odegaard will play an important role in convincing Erling Haaland to move to Santiago Bernabeu.

What is your taken on the plausible signing of Erling Haaland? Will Haaland sign for Real in 2022 or will he move elsewhere?. Barcelona as of now are out of the race given their financial condition and Manchester City seems to be more interested in Lautaro Martinez. Does that mean Real has a free shot at Haaland?
