Real Madrid have decided to pull the plug on a player that was wanted by Zidane in order to bring in two others, who are arguably upgrades in their own way.

Real Madrid have ambitious plans for 2021 summer transfer window and it is no doubt that they will be adding to their squad next year. The Whites have already planned to phase out some of the deadweight at the end of the season and equally worthy replacements will be landed. However, they have made a decision on a player wanted by Zinedine Zidane.

Los Merengues will not pursue a transfer for Manchester United superstar Paul Pogba. Since the French international’s agent revealed that the player’s time at the Old Trafford is nearing its end, the Whites have been linked with a move for him. The hierarchy, however, is inclined to pursuing alternate targets and they will not go for Pogba, Daily Mail claims.

Florentino Perez and his board has decided that the midfield does need a revamp and instead of Pogba, they will go for his international teammate in Eduardo Camavinga. The Rennes youngster has taken Europe by storm since emerging into prominence in 2019 and is expected to be available next year for just 40 million euros.

With age on his side, Camavinga promises to be a long-term option unlike Pogba whose injury worries have already started to be a consistent headache at the age of 27. Moreover, any transfer for the World Cup winner coupled with his agency fees and wages will eclipse Camavinga’s by at least double and it is not fruitful to spend so much on such a player.

Given that Camavinga will be available for cheap, Real Madrid will also pursue a move for Erling Haaland. The Borussia Dortmund frontman is also linked with a move to Spain, especially amid Madrid’s scoring crisis and it is no doubt that he will add a lot of firepower to the final-third. Plus, he will be available for just 75 million euros.

At just 115 million euros, Real Madrid can get two of the world’s best youngsters who have at least 10 years on their side at the very top level. Not to mention, they are also expected to expedite their pursuit of Kylian Mbappe as the summer transfer period edges closer. Do you think Los Blancos will sign all the three players from their wish-list?
