Real Madrid superstar wants out after growing frustrated with Zidane
Reports now confirm that Isco Alarcon now wants out of Real Madrid in the coming winter transfer window due to the lack of game-time received.
Isco’s decline over the past three seasons at Real Madrid has been shocking. The former Malaga midfielder was once an indisputable starter at the club and even played a crucial role in Los Blancos’s historic threat peat in the UEFA Champions League. However, since the 2018/19 season, the Spanish midfielder has shown signs of decline and since then he has rapidly regressed.
So far this season, the 28-year-old midfielder has just played eight games in La Liga which accumulate to a total of 308 minutes. This is a clear indicator that Isco has not been used a lot this season, however, Isco has also failed to make most of the opportunities that were presented to him by Zinedine Zidane so far this season. It’s like the case with Rodrygo, the youngster does not start often but always makes the most of every opportunity which Isco fails to seize.
At the age of 28, Isco should be playing or at least starting every game as the Spaniard is entering the prime years of his career. However, his physical conditioning and work rate is extremely poor which is one of the many reasons why Zidane has not given the player ample chances.
Zinedine Zidane himself has also publicly admitted the lack of game-time that Isco has received so far this season:
"Isco is going to be an important player, it is true that he is not playing much and I am not giving him the opportunity to show the player that he is"
Meanwhile, reports from SPORT confirm that Isco wants out of Real Madrid this January transfer window. The Spanish midfielder has been linked with a move to the Premier League and Everton is one of the few clubs that have been linked with the player.
So far Real has not received any offers for their midfielder, however, the player is keen on leaving the club in search of game-time. The Premier League and Serie A seem to be the two destinations where Isco could be heading towards as Everton and Juventus have shown a great deal of interest.
