EDER MILITAO AS MAKESHIFT REPLACEMENT FOR RAMOS NEXT SEASON?

Well, this might be a shocker to many but Eder Militao could be a makeshift replacement for Sergio Ramos next season. It is a well-known fact that Real Madrid will make an attempt to land Kylian Mbappe next summer. The French forward will cost Los Blancos around 180-200 million euros excluding add-ons and bonuses. Along with Mbappe, Real also wants Eduardo Camavinga who is valued at 50 million euros by Rennes.

If Real do end up signing both these players then getting a world-class replacement for Ramos could certainly be a challenge. Well, if Sergio Ramos and Madrid renew terms then this would not be an issue. But if they do not, then Militao could be considered as a makeshift replacement until Real has the finances to land a world-class centre-back.

The Brazilian has struggled at the Santiago Bernabeu since his move in 2019 when Real paid 50 million euros to Porto which also made him the club’s most expensive defender alongside Ferland Mendy. However, that does not change the fact that Militao is still an extremely talented defender and more minutes could certainly help in helping him find his feet. Zinedine Zidane could consider using him as a make shift replacement next season if need be.
