Real Madrid are starting to look more and more like the team that won its 34th La Liga title with an undefeated stretch this summer. Their struggles against the likes of Cadiz, Shakhtar, and Alaves are not so far in the past that they should be forgotten, because the issues from those matches could always come back to haunt Zinedine Zidane.
But right now, Los Blancos look like a team well and truly capable of completing a successful title defense after the weekend’s statement-making win over Atletico Madrid. A positive follow-up against Bilbao only furthers their progress.
