Real Madrid faces a potential risk of losing out their prime target to Manchester City. The Sky Blues plan to go all out on Erling Haaland of BVB.

Erling Haaland’s rise in world football has been nothing short of phenomenal. The young Norwegian striker continues to dazzle the world with his goal-scoring exploits at Borussia Dortmund. His rapid growth over the past two seasons has caught the eye of several top European clubs namely Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, and Manchester City.

Real Madrid in particular are in a desperate condition to land a goal-scorer as the club has struggled in terms of finding the back of the net since Cristiano Ronaldo‘s transfer to Juventus in the summer of 2018. Only Karim Benzema has been the reliant goal-scorer upfront since Ronaldo’s departure and statistics prove the same.

With Karim Benzema set to turn 33-years-old in the next couple of days, Los Blancos are in a dire need of a thorough replacement. Erling Haaland will certainly be the ideal replacement for Benzema and Real can sign the highly-rated Norwegian for just 75 million euros in the summer of 2022.

However, reports confirm that Manchester City could potentially go all out to sign Haaland next summer. The Sky Blues are currently facing a turbulent patch in the Premier League, however, they have their eyes set on Haaland as a replacement for Sergio Aguero.

Since Aguero’s contract expires next summer, Manchester City will most likely go all out for the Borussia Dortmund striker. Gabriel Jesus has also not really lived up to the expectations at the Etihad Stadium this season as the Sky Blues have scored only 18 goals so far this season in the Premier League.

If City does end up going all out for Haaland next summer then it could potentially upset Real Madrid since Erling Haaland has been considered as an ideal replacement for Karim Benzema at the club.
