Arsenal are on the lookout for a creative midfielder and reports state that Isco Alarcon of Real Madrid has been shortlisted as a potential signing.

Isco could possibly be on the way out from Real Madrid this winter transfer window. The former Malaga midfielder has fallen down the pecking order at Real and is frustrated over the lack of game-time. Several reports from Marca, AS and so have confirmed that Isco has asked the club to let him leave this January.

A report from El Desmarque states that Arsenal has now entered the race alongside Everton and Sevilla to land Isco this winter transfer market. The Gunners are currently going through a rough patch under Mikel Arteta and have plummeted all the way down on the Premier League table.

Arsenal are on the lookout for a creative midfielder despite having Mesut Ozil in their squad. Having said that, Isco seems to the ideal signing for the Gunners this winter out of all the available options. The north London side were eager on signing Houssem Aouar of Lyon, however, the project seems to be too expensive for the club right now given the impact COVID-19 has had on the club’s financial resources.

Having said that, Isco is deemed as the best and most financially viable option. However, his fitness and poor conditioning could be an issue in the Premier League given the fact that it is the most physically demanding league in the world.

The former Malaga midfielder is on a contract until the summer of 2022, however, Real are open to the idea of parting ways. In fact, Isco could potentially leave the club for a figure between 15-20 million euros.
