The greatest player in the history of Real Madrid reportedly wants current employers, Juventus, to land another one of the club’s great figures.

A few weeks ago, rumours linked Cristiano Ronaldo to a potential return to Real Madrid but a historic change in pastures is not on the cards for the Portuguese. Juventus have confirmed that he will stay at the club as the 35-year-old continues to play an integral role in their Serie A and UEFA Champions League campaigns.

Ronaldo has been terrific for the Bianconeri and has been involved in nearly 100 goals in as many appearances. However, the club has faltered in the European Cup despite the ex-Manchester United marksman scoring all their knockout phase goals since signing mainly due to the defending. Calcio Mercato claims that CR7 has asked for a reinforcement.

Marcelo is the player that Ronaldo wants in Turin. The duo enjoyed a great relation on and off the pitch at Real Madrid and the chemistry between the two was certainly among the best the world has ever seen. With Ferland Mendy emerging as a regular at the Santiago Bernabeu, the Brazilian could be sold next year as his chances are nothing but numbered.

Juventus would benefit from signing Marcelo because he is certainly an upgrade from Alex Sandro. Moreover, he will be available in January for just 15 million euros, roughly and that is an exciting price tag for a player with as many experience and quality. Needless to say, he also brings an air of leadership into the dressing room which the club needs as well.

Besides Juve, Inter Milan are also interested in him. Whether the Whites will let go of Marcelo midway through the season remains to be seen as they have no other left-back. Nacho can play in the impeded role but he is going to come handy as well in the heart of the backline during the cup fixtures next month onwards.
